C-SPAN segment on Albany features NYS Library

As part of C-SPAN's 2012 LCV (Local Content Vehicles) Cities Tour, a team visited the Capital Region in November to film segments on Albany's cultural heritage for Book TV (on C-SPAN2) and American History TV (on C-SPAN3).

C-SPAN will broadcast the Albany programs on December 8 and 9, 2012. The Book TV Albany program will be shown at noon on Saturday, December 8, while the American History TV program on Albany will be shown at 5 p.m. on Sunday, December 9. They will eventually be archived on a C-SPAN website.

The Albany programming includes segments filmed at the New York State Library, featuring the Talking Book and Braille Library and the Preliminary Emancipation Proclamation. Segments were also filmed at the New York State Archives and New York State Museum, as well as at other venues in Albany, including SUNY Albany, the State Capitol, the Shaker historic site, and the USS Slater.

See C-SPAN's Albany page for more information.
