Access the NYS Library through the Concourse
on Saturday, May 31
Although the New York State Library will be open on Saturday, May 31, visitors will not be able to access the building via the first floor/lobby entrance at Madison Avenue.
The Albany Police Department has determined that, due to the Freihofer's Run for Women race taking place in Albany on Saturday, the Cultural Education Center's main entrance will be rerouted to the Concourse level, Madison Avenue Tunnel entrance. Please note that the New York State Museum and the New York State Archives will also be affected by this change.
The Madison Avenue street level entrance will be closed for both public and staff access from 6 a.m. until after the race. The Cultural Education Center will resume normal operations once the race is completed.
Parking on either side of the Cultural Education Center, or on Madison Avenue itself, will also be unvailable on Saturday.
Advance notice is provided so that anyone who might be considering a visit to the Library around that time can plan accordingly. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
